RIACE BRONZES 50th ANNIVERSARY OF THE DISCOVERY
"I WAS THERE"
To speak of emotion, of being moved, of falling in love is reductive. A euphemism. I have fallen in love with many works and many artists, but with the Bronzes it is different. It is belonging, love returned, fulfilled. Without knowing it, I shared the same sea, the same beach with them. The sunlight rising, the moon reflected in the sea. With them I shared all the summers of my youth.
Materials: enameled copper wires, steel, sand from the beach of Riace, trimmings.
